Fittja People’s Palace wins Swedish renovation prize
The Swedish Nordic Built Challenge winner from 2013 was awarded the SABO prize for Best renovation project of the year!
The Fittja People’s Palace project has been awarded the prize for Best renovation project of the year by the Swedish Association of Public Housing Companies (SABO). The project is owned by Botbyrkabyggen and was developed by NCC Construction together with Spridd Architects as part of the Nordic Built Challenge in 2013. Then, the project became Swedish national winner of the competition and one of the five finalists for the main prize.
According to the SABO jury, Fittja People’s Palace has “in an innovative and realistic way developed a sustainable model for the company’s – and the rest of Sweden’s – continued renovatation programmes for similar areas. By putting the residents centre stage, the project is based on their prerequisites and involvement”.
