A holistic approach for climate smart and affordable living.
The proposal has a holistic approach for achieving the Sege Park development goals: climate smart and affordable living. The team aims to achieve changing processes, behaviour and generating new local value through collaboration and entrepreneurship.
The team proposes community and neighbourhood identity building through placemaking, meaning collaborative activities such as art projects, participatory building workshops, organising markets and festivals and by so doing creating an extended community of people engaged with their area. Climate smart design would not rely solely on modern technological solutions, but a holistic approach that addresses the entire neighbourhood and rethinks building processes.
The proposal is organised through four focus areas: production, leisure & culture, green network and connectivity. Among the many proposed activities within the four areas are a gardening hub, startup office spaces, space for exchanging things, habitats for birds on rooftops and flexible urban furniture.
